Use only non-comedogenic skin care products
The word “non-comedogenic” means the product won’t clog the pores. When pores clog, they expand, which can make your pores look more noticeable.
Everything you apply to your face should be:
- Non-comedogenic- won’t clog pores
- Oil free
Cleanse your face twice daily
Clogged pores and oily complexion makes pores look larger. Cleansing twice daily prevents clogged pores and reduces oiliness.
When cleansing face:
- Use warm water. Hot water can irritate skin, causing pores to look larger.
- Gently wash face. Scrubbing can irritate skin, causing inflammation making pores more noticeable.
- Use a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser.
If oily skin, mild acne, or saggy skin, pores look larger. Apply retinol or retinyl palmitate product before going to bed.
If pregnant or breastfeeding, don’t use a product containing retinol or retinyl palmitate.

Use sunscreen every day

Applying a broad-spectrum, water resistant sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher to prevent sun-damage. Apply sunscreen every day, even when raining or cold outside. Su-damage builds up over time.
Be gentle with your skin
Scrubbing can irritate skin, which makes pores look larger.
Picking or squeezing pores irritates skin, making pores look more prominent.
Be gentle with skin. Never scrub, rub, pick at, or squeeze facial skin.
